The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is now accepting grant applications from farmers and ranchers for the Healthy Soils Program through February 25, 2022.
The Healthy Soils Program provides incentives for on-farm conservation practices that sequester carbon, lower greenhouse gases and benefit soil health. Examples of awarded projects include the following activities: cover crops, compost applications, hedgerow planting, mulching, reduced till, no till, and whole orchard recycling, among others.
