Meet Asm. Blanca Rubio on the Latest Episode of Capitol Farm Connection
Assemblywoman Blanca Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) joins Ag Council’s Capitol Farm Connection podcast for a dynamic conversation about policy, politics, and a discussion about her background and focus in the Legislature. She represents a Southern California district comprising Azusa, Covina, Glendora and West Covina and describes her region as a hub of small business and manufacturing.
As a moderate Democrat in the Legislature, Assemblywoman Rubio is an important partner in Ag Council’s advocacy efforts. Her unique perspective derives from her experience coming to the U.S. from Mexico as a child, working as a teacher, and later serving on the board of a local water district and on the school board.
Assemblywoman Rubio is an excellent example as to why it is critical to reach out and build connections with a diverse group of legislators.
Ag Council encourages you to listen to this lively conversation where she discusses her work in the areas of water, education, and domestic violence, as well as her connection to agriculture. She also talks about the hectic days leading up to adjournment in the Capitol from a legislator’s perspective.
This week’s episode is Ag Council’s first podcast interview with a legislator, and our team is pleased to share this energetic conversation with Assemblywoman Rubio.
