The Funding Agricultural Replacement Measures for Emission Reductions program (known as the FARMER program) is accepting applications from farmers to replace farm equipment in order to lower emissions and benefit air quality.

FARMER is spearheaded by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) in collaboration with regional air districts. Eligible farmers can apply for funding through their local air districts to replace older tractors, harvesters, heavy-duty trucks and other farm equipment used within agricultural operations with the goal of reducing emissions and improving air quality.

This allocation of funding is for farmers located in the specified counties and regions listed below.  Farmers located within the following air districts are eligible to apply for this round of funding where $5.4 million is available:

–       Amador County Air Pollution Control District (APCD)

–       Antelope Valley Air Quality Management District (AQMD)

–       Calaveras County APCD

–       Eastern Kern County APCD

–       El Dorado AQMD

–       Great Basin Unified APCD

–       Lake County AQMD

–       Lassen County APCD

–       Mariposa County APCD

–       Modoc County APCD

–       North Coast Unified AQMD

–       Northern Sierra AQMD

–       Placer County APCD

–        Shasta County AQMD

–       Siskiyou County APCD

–       Tuolumne County APCD

FARMER Program funds can be utilized for various purposes, including:

–       Off-road equipment replacements (such as tractors)

–       Stationary and portable engine repowers (such as agricultural pumps)

–       Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTV) and small tractor replacements

–       Infrastructure engaged in or supporting agricultural operations

–       On-road heavy-duty truck replacements
