Sites Project Authority Executive Director Jerry Brown will be a featured presenter during Ag Council’s 104th Annual Meeting in Monterey. The Annual Meeting will be held March 29-31, 2023, and Brown will speak during the general session on March 30.

Sites Reservoir is an off-stream project to be built north of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
We encourage members and friends to join us for this informative session as Brown discusses the timeline, funding, as well as the water supply and environmental benefits of the reservoir project. Brown will also cover how the reservoir fits into the larger picture of improving California’s water management system, in addition to offering flexibility and reliability.

Notably, a January 2023 analysis by the Sites Project Authority stated that if the reservoir was completed and operating during the storms between January 3-15, the project would have stored water for about two million farms, businesses and people.

Ag Council supports the development of this project as a mechanism to capture excess water from storms to provide a reliable water source for various water users, including farms, when other sources are low. Completion of Sites Reservoir is an important part of the development of a sustainable, modernized water supply to help address California’s water management challenges.
