In recent days, the State Legislature released a series of budget bills to be considered prior to the end of the legislative session on August 31. The bills are expected to be approved and then signed by Governor Newsom shortly after passage.
The budget bills contain funding for the following programs and projects, many of which Ag Council has supported this year, including funds for water conveyance, healthy soils, dairy emissions reductions, ag equipment replacement grants, pollinator habitat, urban greening, and incentives for energy efficiency projects at food processing facilities, as well as other funding. At the same time, our association is not supportive of changes being made in the budget relating to new authority at the Department of Pesticide Regulation.
