Governor Gavin Newsom signed hundreds of measures over the past few days, including legislation regarding climate reporting, pesticides, and school meals.
The governor signed the following bills over the weekend.
· SB 253 (Wiener) Specified businesses must track and report climate emissions, including Scope 3 (supply chain) emissions.
· SB 261 (Stern) Requires certain businesses to prepare a climate financial risk assessment on the business’ holdings and supply chain assets.
· AB 363 (Bauer-Kahan) Bypasses the Dept. of Pesticide Regulation’s scientific evaluation process to ban the consumer use of certain pesticides.
· SB 348 (Skinner) Codifies President Biden’s federal sugar and salt guidelines for school meals.
